Taiwanese Home Feast & Stories by Lin Family EATS


The Lin family, a Taiwanese South African family residing in Cape Town, has considered South Africa their home for over 30 years. They have been promoting Taiwanese food culture at various marketplaces.


For those unfamiliar with them, I borrowed a few words from their Instagram, penned by their talented daughter Ming-Cheau Lin, who has authored many books on food and culture;


"Papa Kingha has always had a passion for cooking Taiwanese food and is known for his palate in the local East Asian community. Assisted by mama Hui Li, the duo make all their foods from scratch using locally accessible ingredients and produce. They are also known for highlighting the prolific southern flavours of their hometown, Tainan – these folks are known for being picky eaters in Taiwan."
